MARINE TOWING

Our family has been on the waters of Long Island Sound for over 50 years.  We know how much enjoyment boating offers.  And we also know about those days you wish never happened – we have been there, too.  During those times when professional on-water assistance is required, the last thing you need is a hassle.  That is why we are here.

The philosophy of American Boating Services is to provide professional, courteous service at a reasonable price.  We want you to be a member of our boating family.

Together with Affordable Boat Tow, another private towing company, we cover most of Long Island Sound.  The two companies together are called TWO BROTHERS TOWING.  Both companies will honor each other’s members affording a larger coverage area.    We can service the boating public with marine assistance from Penfield Reef, Bridgeport, CT, south to Port Jefferson, NY, east to the Race and north to Niantic Bay including all rivers and ports within that area.  If you find yourself outside the coverage area and disabled, PLEASE CALL!  Safe Port Coverage up to $1,500 per year – even when you are out of the area serviced by our boats, one call to us will provide the arrangements needed to keep you safe.

In order to join our family, we offer the following memberships:

$75.00 for boats under 28 feet, or $100.00 for boats 28 feet to 50 feet

You will find that this is a significant savings compared to the two national companies. 

A one-year membership provides a total of 4 services each year from this list, at no additional charge to the member:

• a tow from the location you are disabled at sea to the port of your choice in our coverage area
• Safe Port Coverage: outside our service area up to $1500.00 coverage per year is included to tow you to a safe port, provided arrangements are made by American Boating Services
• at-sea jump start
• fuel drop (fuel reimbursement is due upon arrival)
• soft ungrounding (able to be pulled off the ground with one boat and NO special equipment), or
• towing of your disabled boat from a restricted use dock to your port of choice in our coverage area for the purpose of making repairs

ATTENTION: TowBoatU.S. Members with only $50 on-water towing "coverage"!! We will match their plan and deduct $50 from your total bill. Combine this with our lower hourly rates, and you will save at the end of the day.

Diving and salvage services are available at a savings compared to the two national companies; however, these services are not covered in the annual membership.  Please check out salvage vs. towing for further details
